We all have questions. Where to start?

Identifying barriers and opportunities for improvement

Accessibility audits provide a detailed assessment of how websites, native apps, software, and other digital experiences perform against accessibility standards such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) or a bespoke standard you use within your organisation. We use these standards to highlight where potential barriers exist for users experiencing disability, and outline solutions and recommendations to fix them. They highlight where barriers exist for users with disabilities and outline opportunities to improve inclusivity and compliance.

Our Accesibility Audit approach

Audits cover, as standard, WCAG 2.2 and the GDS recommended Assistive technology list. Design and code are assessed by our team of experts using a range of techniques, tools and lived experience to capture comprehensive technical results.

Accessibility audits are conducted on a product by product basis, so this might be a website, a native app, smart TV app or standalone piece of software.

Any issues identified are documented in a clear report with the user severity and impact, recommended solution, documentation and any other pertinent notes, so your teams can practically implement fixes.
Here’s an example of an audit report, so you can see the level of detail and type of information you’ll receive: https://nomensa.notion.site/GAIN-Accessibility-Audit-Report-Example-1fbeb30c960d80ca9502e077df7fef49?pvs=74

Audits are a great place to start if you’re unsure of your product’s current level of accessibility.
