Professional 1-day course and UX certification programme designed for UX managers and leaders

Course description

Created in association with the International Usability and User Experience Qualification Board (UXQB), this professional 1-day course and UX certification programme is designed to ensure UX managers and leaders are familiar with management terms and concepts of user experience and human-centred design. It is independently assessed/certified by Certible.

Learn the basics of corporate language that are relevant for UX professionals. Understand what business goals are, how they relate to UX goals, and how they should drive UX work. Gain influence by understanding the business relevance of UX and how to influence management stakeholders. Get resources to convince and educate your organisation about the value of human-centred design strategy.

Bunnyfoot were the pioneers and are now one of the leading providers of the Certified Professional for Usability and User Experience (CPUX) courses in the United Kingdom.

You can find more information about the CPUX programme at uxqb.org

Is it for you?

This course is design for UX professionals who want to understand their work in an organisational context so they can communicate better with their management.

Some examples of roles that may find it useful:

  • Product managers and Product owners

  • Managers who manage UX professionals without being UX professionals, for example test managers

  • UX  professionals who want to pursue a UX management career path

  • Lone UX professionals, the “UX team of one”, in an organisation, who want to know, “Am I doing it right?”

  • UX consultants who need to advise their clients about UX management and strategy

  • People with no formal UX-training who want to pursue a career in UX

  • Designers

  • Developers

  • Business analysts

UX managers may benefit from the systematic, up-to-date presentation of UX and HCD concepts offered by the training. However, the training and certification will not make you a qualified UX manager – this requires additional experience.

What you will learn

You will be able to apply management concepts in the following areas of competence:

  • The challenges of human-centred design (HCD) management

  • Business terms that every UX professional should know

  • UX and HCD management and leadership

  • Crafting and driving UX vision

  • Creating a shared HCD culture

  • HCD maturity

  • Boosting  HCD maturity

  • Measuring  the business value of HCD activities

  • Risk management

  • Ethical design and sustainable design

Certification test

In order to gain the CPUX-M certification, you must pass the 75-minute test that consists of 40 multiple choice questions. To pass, you must score at least 28 points out of the 40 possible.

The course will be a full day of training, with the examination scheduled for 09:30am the following day.

You can find a complete example of a certification test on the UXQB website

What are the UXQB and CPUX?

The International Usability and User Experience Qualification Board (UXQB) is a consortium of internationally recognised experts in usability and user experience. UXQB’s objective is to develop, maintain and manage the CPUX certification programs.

CPUX is an international standard for qualification of people working professionally within UX. So far unions in six European countries have joined UXQB: Germany, Switzerland, Austria, England, Holland and Denmark.

Read more about UX certification at www.uxqb.org/en where you can also find curricula and examples of the tasks that you have to solve if you want to be certified. The course includes many additional, unpublished examples of test tasks.

As this course is run remotely, you must have access to Zoom, a webcam and a stable internet connection.

Other CPUX certification courses offered by Bunnyfoot:

  • CPUX-UT (Usability Testing) is an advanced module which focuses on the preparation, moderation, and analysis of usability tests and builds on the foundational CPUX-F course. 50% of the course will be spent on practical exercises like writing test tasks, moderation, and communicating usability test results.
